Short Film - A Long Walk To Forever

I found these videos last night and it gave me an unexpected nostalgia. It's an old short story that we studied way back in high school. I remember that after reading it the first time, I thought I missed the last page because it ended differently.
The last sentences were,
"..Newt did stop. He did turn. He did call. 'Catharine', he called.
She ran to him, put her arms aroud him, could not speak.
"
I was thinking, "where the hell are the explicit happily-ever-after lines?" It's probably on the next page that I don't have with me. It seems so clear to me now, but back then I was really puzzled. I had to read it over and over again to especially decode the author's satirical style of writing.
Now this is where I start my Doogy-Howser-typing-on-his-computer-journal moment: I realized that when I was smaller, everything is either black or white - either good or bad. After growing a hundred more pimples and after learning how to shave, I now maybe believe that black or white is relative. White for you may be black for me. Literally, I cannot (really) tell that what I see as black is also what you see as black. For example (from my perspective), maybe my black is your green and you call your green black!
Or how about pushing it even further that black or white (in life) does not really exist. It is merely an illusion just like Santa or the Tooth Fairy. Most of the time, life is more about wandering around the grey areas.
Everybody now: Good old days..
To Miss E. - if you're reading this. Please take a bow!
